Subtrail Kungsbacka – Varberg. In Northern Halland the Hallandsleden and Bohusleden trails meet up at Lake Blåvättnerna. The Hallandsleden trail then turns down towards Varberg or enters the beautiful Åkulla area, where it divides into an eastern and western branch. From the centre of Varberg you can follow the E1 European long-distance path and join up with the other parts of the Hallandsleden trail immediately before you get to the Åkulla Recreation Area (Åkulla Friluftsgård).
Choose to do one distance at a time or to combine multiple sections for a longer hike. If you want to truly experience life in the wilderness then there is a shelter where you can spend the night at the end of almost all the stages. This means you will need a sleeping bag and sleeping mat. The shelter accommodates 4–5 adults. There will also be a fireplace and a composting toilet there.
